kaufArt - about us

the name kaufArt...

in the era of twitter, gibbly, bebo, etc.;
we decided we needed something loaded with more substance
than just catchy gooblygaab.

substance? kaufArt sounds like "cow fart" (hence our mascot).

well yeah, it's not by accident.

we're personally pretty active in helping minimize the damage
humans have caused to our ecosystem(which includes
ourselves);
therefore, we chose a name which addresses both the creative
world and eco sustainability.

why kaufArt not "cowfart"?

here's the simple combined-word definition:

kauf = buy or get (in deutsch)
Art = an inner image/vision projected outward...

kA is the voice of this generation...
no, not really ...sorry kanye!

we're just a few design students desperate to share our
love for our planet + our affinity for unique design, fashion,
and art.

thus, kaufArt was born april '08; then launched the following
october. over the last few months we've been redesiging kA
to be a more expressive, community oriented, mecca for
cool moderetro, and affordable stuff.

we also try to be as ethical as possible and include only
design items under $5000 and fashion items under $500.

save creativity + save the world.
